History Meeting
Do you have an interest in the history of the parish of Glenfarne? A meeting will be held in Cullentragh Centre on Wednesday, 18th January at 8pm.

Olde Tyme Dancing Classes are back!
Olde Tyme Dancing classes will resume at The Rainbow after the Christmas break on Monday, 9th January at 9pm. New members are welcome.

Olde Tyme Dance
All are welcome to the “Olde Tyme” Dance in The Rainbow on Sunday, 15th January from 9pm to 11.30pm. Dancing to “Country Sensations”.
Keep Fit Classes
Keep Fit Classes in The Rainbow Ballroom will recommence on Thursday, 12th January 2012 at 8pm.

Christmas wishes

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all at Glenfarne Development.

A huge thank you to anyone that helped out in any way in 2011 and many thanks to those that supported fundraising events. Your help and support is always much valued and appreciated.

Christmas Masses

The Christmas Eve Vigil Mass will take place at 9.30pm at St Michael’s Church. Christmas Day Masses are as follows; 9.30am in St Michael’s and 11.00am at St Mary’s Church.

Keep Fit Classes in The Rainbow

Keep Fit Classes in The Rainbow Ballroom have finished for 2011. They will recommence on Thursday, 12th  January 2012 at 8pm.

Fundraising “Olde Tyme Dance”

An “Olde Tyme Dance” will be held in The Rainbow on Sunday, 11th December. Music by “Country Cousins”. Dancing from 9pm – 11.30pm. Admission €7 or £5 including refreshments. A great value-for-money night out. Everybody is welcome. All proceeds go to The Rainbow Renovation Fund. Your support is always appreciated.

Santa is coming to Glenfarne!

A note for all the girls and boys of Glenfarne: Keep Sunday, 11th December free for the Santa Party taking place at 2pm!

An ideal Christmas gift

The official commemorative DVD of a fantastic night of nostalgia in The Rainbow Ballroom of Romance, which was filmed on location on 19th May 2011, was launched in The Rainbow on 7th October; when Nathan Carter and his band returned to play in the famous venue.

Nathan and his band have had a great success with John Farry’s song “The Rainbow in Glenfarne” since the launch night on 19th May. This DVD features many nostalgic memories of years gone by in The Rainbow. Artists that feature on the DVD are John Glenn, Shaun Loughrey, Mick Flavin, Eileen King, Brendan Quinn, Gene Stuart, Brian Coll and The Benn Sisters.

The three hour double Benefit DVD is priced at €20 and is available to purchase at Clancys of Glenfarne, Mc Hugh’s Pub in Glenfarne, Bredins in Manorhamilton, Mc Griskins in Kiltyclogher, Reynolds in Killargue, PS Loughlin’s in Dowra and Mulveys of Carrick-On-Shannon. All proceeds go to The Rainbow Renovation Fund.
