TRADITIONAL IRISH WEEKEND

Glenfarne C.C.E. again presents the Traditional Irish Weekend to commemorate the memory of the late Tommy Maguire renowned accordion player and Irish music teacher late of Glenfarne and London. The weekend of entertainment which is from 11th to 13th August, includes great traditional concert of music, dancing, singing, storytelling…

The weekend commences on Friday night 11th Aug at 8.30pm in the Rainbow. Workshops in music dancing and singing from 10.30 am on Saturday. Ceili dancing on Saturday night (10pm to 12.30am) to the music of the Copperplate Ceili Band from Co Tyrone. Remembrance mass on Sunday morning in St Mary’s Church at 11am for all deceased musicians, etc. From 2.30pm great outdoor session of music and song at McHugh’s Lounge. The weekend concludes with dancing in the Rainbow to two bands Mountain Fever (Kathleen and Paddy) from 10pm to 11pm, followed by Philomena Begley and The Aiden Quinn Showband from 11 pm to 1am. These are just some of the highlights for another great weekend in Glenfarne.
