At a recent meeting of Leitrim County Council, Cllr. Sean McDermott asked if the council would be making provision for a bus-stop at the ‘Big Bog’ cross in Glenfarne. He stated that this location had always being an official Bus Eireann stop but that in recent years drivers have being reluctant to stop here due to safety concerns.

Director of Service Infrastructure, John McGuinness confirmed that provisions have been made for a bus-stop at the location in question as part of the current N16 improvement works at Kilmakerrill.

The official bus stop will re-open on completion of these works.
