“Ballroom Of Romance� Film

A big thank you to all concerned, that helped recently on the occasion of the screening of the film the “Ballroom of Romance� in the mobile cinema at the original “Ballroom Of Romance�, Glenfarne. This was a great occasion made special with the performance of the Frank Chambers’ Dance Band in The Rainbow.
Special guests on the night included filmmakers Pat O’Connor, Robert Cooper, actors Tom Hickey, John Kavanagh. A big treat on the night was to see the mode of transport parked outside The Rainbow, as if you were going dancing in the fifties. It was great to see people from Ballycroy, Co Mayo coming over to The Rainbow. It was in a hall in Ballycroy that The Ballroom Of Romance was made twenty-five years ago.
It was wonderful to see nostalgic photographs of years gone by.
Finally we cannot forget The Irish Film Institute and The Leitrim Cinemobile Chairman and filmmaker Johnny Grogan, who made it all happen on the night.
