GLENFARNE GALA FESTIVAL 2006
Plans are well underway for this years Gala Festival, from Thursday 3rd August-Monday 7th inclusive.
We start off with Children’s Fancy Dress disco in the Rainbow Centre, followed by the Novelty Over 40′s Football Tournament with teams from Manorhamilton, Belcoo, Blacklion, Glenfarne/Kilty. Reports are coming in that Shannon Gaels have set up a training camp at the foot of Cuilcagh Mountains under supervision of the Super-Star Tom Reilly. It’s also believed that Paddy McGowan star for Glenfarne/Kilty is busy getting extensions on his hair and also that the Botox injections are working well, all shall be revealed.
The Wolfe Tones are back by popular demand on Friday 4th August in concert and tickets are on sale in Clancy’s of Glenfarne Ketty’s Pub, McGriskin’s Shop, Kiltyclogher and Market Bar Manorhamilton, so make sure you get out early and get your tickets on time. Anthony McBrien and Francy Smith take to the stage on Saturday 5th August and will entertain us till the wee hours. More details later.
Sunday 6th August we have our annual Sports Day at 3.30 pm, Also on Sunday 6th August we have Louise Morrisey and her band in Rainbow at 11.30p.m. Full Bar facilities.
Monday 7th August Fishing Competition from McHugh’s Lounge 11a.m. – 4p.m. Parents are advised that all children must be supervised please. Duck Race in Village River at 5p.m. Lots of prizes to be won. Lines cost €2 each and are available locally. Car Treasure Hunt from Ketty’s Bar. First car to be out by 5.30pm. and last car by 7pm. So come along to enjoy the craie, Our Pub Team Challenge takes place after the Treasure Hunt in the village at 10pm.
