I am a decendant of David Hudie, brother of John James Hudie (both born in Ontario, Canada, and later to Michigan USA). Does anyone from Glenfarne or the surounding area have any information on the surname of Hudie? I'm doing some family history research and need help with name Hudie. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!

Cheers,
Vic

Hello from the USA,
My Dad, Felix Clancy 1913-2009 who was from glenfarne and lived on the family farm in menkeeragh, just passsed away at 96. I am doing a diary about his life and have a lot of great stories for he was a great man. I remember him talking about working for the forestry dept. planting trees around 1930's to 1940's but I never wrote down the name of this place. Would anyone know what this place was called?
Thank you for any help or website referances
       Larry Clancy

Just searching the net and thought I would pay a visit to my family's home village. Great to see a picture of my great aunt Sissy who used to run the pub but which is now run by her son Ben and his wife Sue. Love this part of the world. Living in Witham Essex UK now

Hi

My family The Mawn's originate from Ireland and we believe in this village.

We live in Leeds, West Yorks, UK as our Great Grandparenst emmigrated over from Ireland.

My grandfather was James Mawn and his father James Mawn snr.

We would love to know more info.on the family and if there are any surviving relatives still in the village.

I see from the recent blog by Dennis Mawn he is visiting.

My own faither is called Denis aswell!

Regards

Looking forward to being in Glenfarne on August 21-23 with the children of Michael and Rose Mawn (RIP) for a bit of a family reunion. My aunts and uncles are hoping to see any and all old friends and family left in the area. Until then, all the best.
